Benjamin is a classical pianist specializing in classical music of our time. He has worked with many composers including Chaya Czernowin, Robert Morris, Zhou Long, Alexina Louie, and Jake Runestad.  He runs Piano Memes for Ligeti-Loving Teens (@ligeti4life), which promotes post-1945 piano music through social media. His recitals often present new and old works side-by-side and show deep connections between works that appear disconnected. You walk away from his performance with something you didn’t know you liked beforehand. His performances have also included interdisciplinary work with poetry, dance, and performance art.

In addition to solo performance, Benjamin has worked extensively as vocal accompanist, and has worked as répétiteur for shows including a workshop premiere of Susan Kander’s Carry My Own Suitcase. In addition to performances with Slee Sinfonietta and newEar, he has performed at June in Buffalo and New Music For Strings. He is currently writing a repertoire survey of piano music after 1945.
